Richard A. Kaplan, chair of the Trade Secrets Group at Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, was featured in an article titled "Kaplan '82 Named 'Litigator of the Week' by American Lawyer Magazine" which appeared in the "Alumni Spotlight" section of the September 8, 2009 edition of AlbanyLaw.com. Mr. Kaplan, an alumnus of Albany Law School, was named the "Litigator of the Week" in the June 19, 2009 editions of Law.com and AmLaw Litigation Daily for his victory on behalf of the firm's client, R.J. Reynolds, in a hard-fought patent infringement lawsuit. Mr. Kaplan was co-lead counsel for R.J. Reynolds in the eight-year-long case.
