Ryan L. Marshall
Mr. Marshall has extensive prosecution experience with patent and trademark matters as well as litigation experience with patent, trade secret, trade dress and unfair trade practice claims. He has substantial experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biochemical arts.
Mr. Marshall has a master's degree in chemistry and eight years of laboratory research experience. As a graduate student, he investigated nucleoside and peptide chemistry including the synthesis of novel compounds and characterization of protein interactions with lipopolysaccharides using spectroscopy and calorimetry.
He counsels clients and prepares opinions relating to patentability, invalidity, infringement and enforceability issues. He has worked with a broad range of chemical technologies, particularly in the medicinal chemistry field including pharmaceuticals, synthetic methods, peptides, protein complexes and chelates, nucleosides, DNA sequence tags and point-of-care DNA diagnostics. He has also worked with design and utility patents for synthetic diamond drill bits, outdoor gear, eyewear, batteries, water softeners, packaging and medical devices.
Mr. Marshall advises clients on strategic patent portfolio development, landscape analysis, ANDA opinions and in drafting U.S. and foreign patent applications. He also performs intellectual property evaluations, audits and due diligence reviews.
